Do I need fishing experience?
No. The crew demonstrates each step and guests only participate where it is safe and appropriate.
Will we definitely see whales or orcas?
No. Wildlife moves freely and sightings cannot be guaranteed. Depending on season and luck, the coast may reveal whales, orcas, dolphins, seals or sea eagles.
Can we definitely catch and eat king crab?
The crab activity operates under applicable local rules and conditions. The skipper manages the gear and catch. Lunch is included, even if weather changes the on-water programme.
What should I wear?
Dress in warm base layers, a wool mid-layer, hat, gloves and sturdy footwear. We provide an insulated flotation suit for the boat.
Is the trip suitable for children?
Private trips can usually welcome children aged 8 and over. Shared departures are recommended from age 12. Contact us to discuss your family.
Can I join with limited mobility?
The boat requires steps and a moving gangway. Tell us your needs before booking and we will give an honest access assessment.
How do I reach Vardø?
Vardø has road access and a regional airport at Svartnes. Many guests connect through Kirkenes and combine the trip with the Varanger scenic route.
What happens in bad weather?
Safety comes first. We may adjust timing or route, offer a shore-based alternative, rebook, or refund an operator-cancelled trip.
Is the site available in Norwegian?
The current booking site is in English. Our team can respond in English or Norwegian.
